Vectra® Networks, the leader in real-time detection of in-progress cyber-attacks, today announced it has been named a winner in the annual Security Innovation Network (SINET) 16 Innovator competition as a top emerging cybersecurity company in 2015. Vectra and other SINET Innovators will share their work with buyers, builders, investors, and researchers at the annual SINET Showcase Nov. 3-4 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
SINET’s mission is to advance cybersecurity innovation through public-private collaboration. The organization selected Vectra from more than 120 applicants from around the world. All applicants were vetted in a two-stage process by 100 security experts from the venture, government, industry, academia, investment banking, and private-sector communities.
“The speed at which cyber threats are accelerating mandates greater access to innovative solutions that provide a significant advantage over adversaries,” said Robert Rodriguez, SINET chairman and founder. “To address this need, I’m pleased that Vectra has been named one of this year’s SINET 16 Innovators. As a nation, we can’t afford to leave any stone unturned to uncover innovative solution providers, and part of our mission at SINET is to do just that.”
During the SINET Showcase, Vectra President and CEO Hitesh Sheth will lead a discussion about “The Role in Automation in Cybersecurity” on Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. EST. The panel will focus on a wide range of emerging approaches to cybersecurity innovation that meet the needs of government. Panelists will also address technology trends that are important to federal agencies and offer advice to emerging technology providers who want to enter the government market.
In addition, Vectra will demonstrate how its advanced persistent threat (APT) defense system delivers real-time detection and analysis of active network breaches. Vectra uses a patent-pending combination of data science, machine learning and behavioral analysis to detect malicious behavior inside networks. Its technology picks up where perimeter security leaves off by providing deep, continuous analysis of both internal and Internet-bound network traffic to automatically detect all phases of a breach as attackers attempt to spy, spread, and steal within a network.
“Vectra is seeing considerable traction in the government and regulated markets, even prior to completing the FIPS 140-2 validation process, and we are honored to be recognized by SINET as one of this year’s top emerging cybersecurity companies,” said Mike Banic, Vectra vice president of marketing. “The SINET Showcase keeps attendees ahead of the latest cybersecurity trends, making it an ideal venue to demonstrate how Vectra automates the detection of threats and cyber attacks in real-time, enabling organizations to stop an attack before data is lost or destroyed.”
SINET Showcase provides a platform for the business of Cybersecurity to take place as emerging technology companies are able to present their solutions and connect with a select audience of nearly 400 venture capitalists, investment bankers as well as industry and government buyers. The program, which is supported by the Department of Homeland Security, Science & Technology Directorate, also features commentary on the latest investment and Cybersecurity trends from the industry’s foremost experts. The program includes educational workshops, panel sessions, an interactive luncheon hour and a networking reception. For more information, see http://www.security-innovation.org/showcase_2015.htm.
